SELF CONFIDENCE

The journey of our life becomes more beautiful when we have self confidence in us. One may think self-confidence and arrogance are similar. I think there is a big difference between self confidence and arrogance they are totally opposite. Self confidence makes a person humble and on the contrary arrogance makes a person feel he/she is superior to everything or above all and that is when the person thinks he/she is equal to the superpower above us. This kind of superior thinking brings a lot of negative thoughts in mind and that changes our whole perspective to look towards life.

Self-confidence is bringing out the best in a person.  A person with self-confidence does not compete with others, were as he/she competes with himself/herself, with their own insecurities.  To gain that self confidence we need to fight with all our negative thoughts and come out of our comfort zone. 

Now what do I mean by negative thoughts.

 We all talk to our self whatever the situation is, for e.g. When we go for shopping, we see a nice earing we knowingly or unknowingly talk to our self, will this suit me, do I have this colour dress, is it worth the price.  Sometimes some situations make us do negative self-talk that goes in our head and we keep on thinking about it through out the time.  Many times, we do negative self-assessment which is a primary reason that we lose self-confidence.  In this big world there are many around you to bring you down, break your self-confidence, we who should take care of our own self.  Just like a gardener takes care of his plants by removing the weeds around his beautiful plants same way we should also take care of our thoughts by removing negative thoughts and channel our minds to positive thoughts.  As humans sometimes it is difficult to overcome those negative thoughts depending to the environment or time.  But we need to fight with it, we cannot gain self-confidence within a day, we need to work on it a lot.

Self-confidence is trusting your own judgment and abilities. One should value himself/herself and feel we are worth it and valuable, regardless of any imperfections or what other may think about him/her.  The important point a person should understand is he/she should be willing to take risks and to go the extra mile to achieve better things. While doing so we may make mistakes, its ok , that is not the end of the world we should be trying to admit our mistakes and learn for them.

We know there is a fact that thoughts influence actions, we need to do our self-affirmation.  We need to affirm that “I am the captain of my ship”.

There was a time that when I thought that I wont be able to do anything or I have no skills, but now I am over it and I say to myself that “I am what I am”.  I may do things wrong in the start, but perseverance and the motivation to do better can change everything and I should have confidence in myself, in what I do.  Only if I believe in myself, I can prove myself. Somewhere I have read this beautiful line “Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time.  Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it”
